Last week we celebrated the closing ceremony of the 32 edition of the Magister Lvcentinvs, Master in Intellectual Property and Digital Innovation of the UA – Universidad de Alicante / Universitat d’Alacant. This event was chaired by the Vicepresident of Permanent Education Ms. Rosabel Roig Vila, on behalf of the UA President Amparo Navarro. Words fall short of expressing our gratitude for all the support we have received, reflected in this ceremony. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Mr. Antònio Campinos, the President of the European Patent Office for having accepted to be this year the “Honorary Patron (Padrino de Promoción)”. Thank you for the inspiring words highlighting the essential role of education in innovation for technological development and for addressing current challenges in this field. Your speech will be carried by our graduates long into the future, as a lasting source of guidance on their professional journey.
Our gratitude to the Director General of the OEPM ES, Elisa Rodriguez Ortiz, for her kind words addressed to the students, highlighting the importance of intellectual property education as a key element in the digital transformation. We equally wish to acknowledge EUIPO – European Union Intellectual Property Office , Ms. ARTECHE ARBIZU Blanca, Head of Service for Knowledge for IP Professionals of the Academy, on behalf of the EUIPO Executive Director, João Negrão. Thank you for emphasizing the permanent collaboration with the Magister Lvcentinvs, as well as the importance of specialised IP education for competitiveness.
Mention must also be made to Ms. Cecilia Magro Mañas, Dep. A. Director of the IP General Secretariat of the Ministry of Culture emphasizing the relevance of intangible assets for the success of businesses and culture. Our gratitude for the support of Javier García-Verdugo, representing the President of the CNMC (Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia), Cani Fernandez, key component in digital markets.
Thank you also to our students: Daniel López Martín and Ana Resende da Graça representing the graduating class, and also to all the professors, students, families and friends of the Magister Lvcentinvs community sharing this event. This programme comes to life each year under the leadership of the UA Commercial Law Area, guided by prof. Esperanza Gallego and NURIA FERNÁNDEZ PÉREZ, also with Pilar Montero, Pilar Iñiguez and all the Commercial Law team. The successful running of this programme is also possible thanks to the Centro de Formación Permanente Universidad de Alicante headed by Teresa Torregrosa, and is supported by many UA centres and units.
