Commemorating World Intellectual Property Day
World Intellectual Property Day 2026, celebrated on 26 April by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), focuses on intellectual property and sport under the theme “Reach for Gold: IP and Sports.” The campaign highlights how patents, trademarks, designs, and other intellectual property rights foster innovation, enhance technical performance, and drive commercial creativity across the world of sport.
To mark this occasion, Professor Pilar Montero, Director of Magister Lvcentinvs, had the opportunity to interview Professor José Manuel Otero Lastres, Emeritus Professor of Commercial Law, Member of the Spanish Court of Auditors, Member of the Board of Directors of Real Madrid C.F., lawyer, and President of the Academic Council of the Magister Lvcentinvs Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property and Digital Innovation at the University of Alicante.
