From the Commercial Law Department of the University of Alicante we are pleased to inform about the event “XII SEMINAR ON PATENT LAW AND BIOTECHNOLOGY: PATENTS AND BIOTECHNOLOGY IN THE HEALTH SECTOR”. The seminar will take place on 21 November from 9:45 am to 2 pm in the Assembly Hall of the Germán Bernácer Building of the University of Alicante. It is a hybrid format seminar, which can be followed both at the University and through a link that will be available from the previous day, Monday, November 20th. This seminar will analyse the required harmonisation between scientific and technical progress and other social interests: the protection of intellectual property of scientific advances in the pharmaceutical industry is a good example of where this harmonisation is needed. With this purpose, the seminar will analyse, from a multidisciplinary perspective, many aspects of patents and biotechnology in the health sector by professionals from different fields of knowledge, with the goal of offering a global vision of this specific sector.
This event will be addressed by top-level speakers from the public and private sectors, both legal and business and industrial, such as Clifford Chance, Laboratorios Rovi, Grau & Angulo, Faus Moliner and Boehringer Ingelheim, among others.
