Magister Lvcentinvs, the Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property and Digital Innovation at the University of Alicante, has once again been recognised as Spain’s leading Specialised Law Master’s Programme.
The newspaper El Mundo has published its 2026 ranking of the best Master’s programmes in Spain, once again placing Magister Lvcentinvs in first place in the category of Specialised Law Master’s Programmes, coinciding with the programme’s 32nd anniversary.
This ranking is regarded as one of the leading references in higher education in Spain and serves as a guide for students seeking to broaden their knowledge and distinguish themselves through an international postgraduate qualification that is continuously adapted to professional practice.
In September 2026, Magister Lvcentinvs will begin its 33rd edition, promoted by the Commercial Law Department of the University of Alicante, under the academic leadership of Professors Esperanza Gallego and Nuria Fernández Pérez, and managed by the Centre for Continuing Education of the University of Alicante, directed by Teresa Torregrosa.
Directed by Professor Pilar Montero, Chair of Commercial Law, Magister Lvcentinvs offers its students a comprehensive programme that provides an in-depth and practical analysis of the legal framework governing Intellectual Property and Digital Innovation within the European Union, while also covering national legislation and the relevant international legal framework.
The programme is supported by leading public institutions, including the European Patent Office (EPO), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM), the European Commission, the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Spanish Ministry of Culture, the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Spanish National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC), together with many other public and private organisations that make Magister Lvcentinvs one of the flagship academic programmes of the University of Alicante.
The curriculum is updated every year to respond to the evolving needs of professional practice. As a result, it includes specialised training in the European Union’s Digital Strategy, covering key topics such as the Digital Services Act (DSA), the Digital Markets Act (DMA), the AI Act, and Data Law, all of which constitute essential pillars of Digital Innovation.
As part of its commitment to continuous development, Magister Lvcentinvs has also launched an International Specialised Course in Business and Intellectual Property Mediation, delivered in English through a hybrid learning format, providing an essential complement to professionals working in the field.
Likewise, Magister Lvcentinvs has been a pioneer in introducing a University Specialist Diploma in Plant Breeding and Quality Distinctive Signs, offering comprehensive training in both Plant Variety Protection and Geographical Indications.
