The World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO Academy, together with the OEPM and in collaboration with the UA – Universidad de Alicante / Universitat d’Alacant, is organizing a summer course on Industrial Property to be held in hybrid format from July 4 to 15, 2022 at the UA.        

Yesterday the closing ceremony of the 28th edition of the Magister Lvcentinvs was held, and once again, it has been a success. We want to thank all the participating authorities. Professor Pilar Íñiguez, Patent Director of the Magister Lvcentinvs, participated yesterday in the First Edition of the Best Inventions Award organized by the OEPM. The professor of Commercial Law and Magister Lvcentinvs of the UA, Jaume Llorca, has given a lecture at the Ilustre Colegio de la Abogacía de Alicante (ICALI) on the treatment of personal data in banks and the complaint procedure in case of violation of data protection regulations.        

The Director of the Magister Lvcentinvs, Professor Pilar Montero, shared a table with Professors Carolina Pina and José Manuel Bravo to talk about Digital Intellectual Rights in the III Edition of the Congress: A World of Digital Fusion, where she analyzed the rules of digital platforms.        

The Director of the Magister Lvcentinvs, Professor PIlar Montero, participated last Thursday in the day dedicated to appellations of origin in the Aranzadi IP Law Forum: Patent. Design, Trademarks and Unfair Competition – Thomson Reuters, with a presentation on geographical signs in the digital market.    

Professor Esperanza Gallego participated last week in the series of conferences: “European Company Law: analysis and new perspectives” organized by the Garrigues Chair of Modernization of Company Law, which dealt with aspects of European Union Law and its application in Spanish Law.    

Professor PIlar Montero, Director of Magister Lvcentinvs participated on Monday in an information day to commemorate World Intellectual Property Day at the round table: “The challenge of industrial and artisanal geographical indications as an opportunity for economic revitalization”. The event was held at the Congress of Deputies in Madrid.  

In the XXXVII Annual Conference of the AIPPI Grupo Español, the Director of the Magister Lvcentinvs, Professor PIlar Montero, and Mario Pomares, Director of Berenguer & Pomares abogados, participated in the round table: The limits of geographical marks. Thank you for these excellent sessions!
