Great success for the international conference: ‘The Positive Impact of Intellectual Property Protection: The Future of Cooperation’, organised by the International University Chair in Intellectual Property Protection of the UA – Universidad de Alicante / Universitat d’Alacant. Over twenty leading international speakers contributed to this exceptional event.

The first round table of the event, was moderated by Elisa Rodriguez Ortiz , Director General of OEPM ES, discussed the challenges of the new design regulation, alongside the speakers Gordon Humphreys, President of the 1st and 3rd Boards of Appeal of the EUIPO – European Union Intellectual Property Office; Gustavo Andrés Martín Martin, judge at Commercial Court No. 1 of Alicante and coordinator of the European Union Trade Mark Court; Antje Söder, Head of Communities and Consistent Practices at the EUIPO; MARTA RODRIGUES, Head of the Legal Department at INPI;Ivan L. Sempereán L. , from PADIMA, and José Luis Segura Pérez, Head of the Legal Department at ACTIU.
The second panel discussed the future of cooperation in the field of intellectual property protection and was led by Graham Clemence, Senior Director of the Global Intellectual Property Protection Team at Alibaba Group. Participants in this panel included Angelo Longo, head of Europol’s anti-counterfeiting team; Mathieu Gigleux, investigator at the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF); Gary Robinson, Superintendent Detective at the City of London Police ; JORGE VIDAL, Inspector of the 1st Intellectual Property Crime Group of the Spanish National Police; and Pilar Cano Serrano, Trademark Protection Advisor at PUMA Group.
The third round table was chaired by Professor Pilar Montero, Professor of Commercial Law and Director of the Magister Lvcentinvs programme. During the session, the speakers Adriana Moscoso Del Prado Hernández , Director General of the European Grouping of Societies of Authors and Composers (GESAC); Rui Martins Lourenço, from the EUIPO’s Digital Innovation Department; Gabi Commatteo, Visiting Lecturer in Global Digital
Enforcement of AI and IP at King’s College London ; Phil Lewis, Director of the UK Anti-Counterfeiting Group (ACG); and RAQUEL HERRERO, Lieutenant of the Civil Guard.
Subsequently, Mauricio Escanilla, Head of Government Affairs for Spain and Portugal at the Alibaba Group, .The final presentation was given by María Fernanda Piñero Montes, legal advisor on marketing and intellectual property for Mahou San Miguel, the two of them were presented by José Antonio Moreno Campos, Global IP Enforcement Team Director of Alibaba Group.
