Success of the International Conference: “Positive Impact of Intellectual Property Protection: The Horizon of Cooperation”, organised by the University of Alicante through its International University Chair for Intellectual Property Protection.
This Chair represents a University–Business partnership promoted by the Commercial Law Department of the University of Alicante, together with the Magister Lvcentinvs and Alibaba Group.
The event brought together more than twenty internationally renowned speakers.
The conference was hosted on behalf of the University of Alicante by Juan Llopis, Director of International Relations and Projects.
The opening keynote was delivered by Pablo Garde, Undersecretary of Industry and Tourism and President of the OEPM, who highlighted the importance of this cooperation as a key element in protecting innovation and fostering economic leadership.
The closing session was delivered by Andrea Di Carlo, Deputy Executive Director of the EUIPO.
The event also featured the participation of Elisa Rodríguez Ortiz, Director General of the OEPM.
The conference also welcomed Nuria Fernández Pérez, Head of the Commercial Law Department; Enrique García-Chamón, President of the EU Trade Mark Court;
Graham Clemence, Senior Director in Alibaba’s Global IP Protection team; José Antonio Moreno Campos, Director in the Global IP Enforcement team at Alibaba Group;
and Pilar Montero, Professor of Commercial Law and Director of Magister Lvcentinvs.
The event began with a presentation by Esperanza Gallego, Director of the Chair, who introduced the study developed by the Commercial Law Department:
“Design Protection under the New European Legislation”.
This international conference continues its mission to serve as a forum for analysis, debate, and research in the field of intellectual property protection,
contributing proposals for improvement and disseminating research that enhances education, knowledge, and protection of intellectual property rights at an international level.
