From the Magister Lvcentinvs we would like to thank ECTA (official) and Ilustre Colegio de la Abogacía de Alicante (ICALI) for the joint cooperation with Magister Lvcentinvs and the Commercial Law Department in the ECTA Alicante Round Table entitled: “Should Your Weak Trade Mark Go to the Gym? (How to Enforce Weak Trade Marks)”.
During this event, participants had the opportunity to attend relevant presentations by experts who discussed the importance of building strong trademarks, as well as the challenges faced by weak trade marks.
Students from the 32nd edition of Magister Lvcentinvs had the privilege of participating in this event, along with former Magister students. The events were inaugurated by Carina Gommers, the ECTA President, followed by a conference given by Professor Altea Asensi Merás, coordinator of the Magister Lvcentinvs, together with Jeroen Muyldermans and Pierluigi M. Villani , and chaired by Marina Gómez Calvo Calvo from Arochi & Lindner , President of the IP Section of ICALI.
Of particular note was the presentation given by Sven Stürmann, President of the EUIPO – European Union Intellectual Property Office Boards of Appeal, and Carlo Sala of Salalex, moderated by Cristina Bercial-Chaumier, who highlighted strategies and best practices for trade mark defence.
