From the Commercial Law Department and from Magister Lvcentinvs, Masters Degree in Intellectual Property and Digital Innovation at the University of Alicante, we would like to congratulate and express our gratitude for the success of the II Congreso Internacional de Diseño , held on 2 and 3 October in the city of Alicante, an essential meeting point for creativity, business and law.
This congress, which included the participation of the Executive Director of the EUIPO – European Union Intellectual Property Office, João Negrão, brought together a large number of speakers, including academics, members of the EUIPO, magistrates and lawyers. Students from the 32nd edition of the Magister Lvcentinvs programme had the opportunity to participate in this event, together with all the professionals in the sector.
From Magister Lvcentinvs, professors Esperanza Gallego, Professor of Commercial Law and Director of the Commercial Law Department at the University of Alicante, and Pilar Montero, Professor of Commercial Law and Director of the Magister Lvcentinvs, addressing issues such as ‘the protection of craftsmanship rights’ and ‘a critical review of the Cofemel case’ with other top professionals in the field.
At this conference, we also had the opportunity to attend presentations by, for example, the magistrate Gustavo Andrés Martín Martin, who analysed in detail the figure of the informed user in designs, and José Antonio Moreno Campos, from Alibaba Group, on the impact of AI in the fight against design piracy.
Congratulations to the Alicante Cámara Alicante, the Intellectual Property Commission chaired by Mr. Enrique Martín, and all the participants for the success of this second edition of the congress!
