Regulation (EU) 2023/2411 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 October 2023 on the protection of geographical indications for artisanal and industrial products has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 27 October. This Regulation will provide the European Union with a geographical indication protection system for artisanal and industrial products, such as carpets from Crevillente or lace from Almagro in Spain. The EUIPO will be the office in charge of administering the registration of these names in collaboration with the national authorities of the member states.
